Second Dorean Crusade
The Second Dorean Crusade is a Black Templars Crusade, that joined the Imperial Crusade defending the besieged Shrine World Tempest.[1a]
History
The Crusade took heavy losses even before the battle of Tempest, with Castellan Emeric having to take command after the death of Marshal Arold.[1a] Consisting of just the vessel Dauntless Honour, the Crusade was eventually able to reach Tempest to find it overrun by Chaos forces led by the World Eaters Possessed Chaos Lord Dravek Soulrender.[1b] Losing all his remaining brothers one by one, Emeric and local Ecclesiarchy forces battled the heretics until victory became impossible in the face of their dwindling numbers.[1b]
Retreating back to the Dauntless Honour with pilgrims and just four Battle-Brothers, Emeric led a final defense against Soulrender. During the battle Emeric is able to kill the Chaos Lord, but every other Templar aboard the vessel is killed. However he had held the line long enough for the main crusade fleet to arrive, which was able to liberate Tempest from the Chaos hordes.[1c]
