Senavael
Senavael was the first Chapter Master of the Wolfspear Chapter.[1]
History
Like all of its initial members, he served in Indomitus Crusade Fleet Primus' Unnumbered Sons forces, which was commanded by Lord Commander Guilliman. After the Battle of Raukos, however, Senavael and the Fleet's other surviving Leman Russ descended Unnumbered Sons, were formed into Wolfspear Chapter. Guilliman then charged them with watching over the Pit of Raukos, to ensure no Chaos forces emerging from there would threaten the Imperium. They numbered 500 in total and Senavael was chosen as their first Chapter Master, 108/Beta-Kalapus-9.2's would serve as their Homeworld. Daemons would strike there every night, though, and to make sure it was properly defended, Senavael commanded two Companies to defend the world. As the Wolfspear were only at half strength, that left the remaining 3 Companies to patrol the Pit of Raukos.
Sometime later, a Space Wolves fleet arrived at 108/Beta-Kalapus-9.2 and the Wolf Priest Ulfreyr Ketilsson sought a meeting with Senavael. When the two met, Ketilsson told the Chapter Master he had been sent by his Wolf Lord, Logan Grimnar, to judge if the Wolfspear were worthy of being the Space Wolves' kin. It was also on Grimnar's orders, that Ketilsson and his two councilors, Gjarmin and Troels, would serve with the Wolfspear until the Wolf Priest made his decision. Senavael rejected this, though, claiming that the Wolf Lord had no authority over his Chapter. Ketilsson agreed that was true and told the Chapter Master they would leave, if the Wolfspear were not interested in being judged worthy. Before the three could do so, however, Senavael stopped them. He then asked if the Wolfspear would be demeaned or judged harshly, as Ketilsson judged them. The Wolf Priest readily assured him, that was not what they had come to Beta-Kalapus to do. While the Wolfspear's worth was being considered, Ketilsson mainly sought to help impart the Space Wolves' heritage to their Successor Chapter.[1]
Upon hearing this, the Chapter Master agreed to allow the Wolf Priest to stay and make his decision. Ketilsson accepted this and then made the Wolfspear Bjarni Arvisson his intermediary to the Successor Chapter. The three Space Wolves and Arvission would then dine together and share knowledge about their respective Chapters to each other. Then as night fell on Beta-Kalapus, the Space Wolves fought beside the Wolfspear against the Daemons that daily invaded their Homeworld. It was as the two forces clashed, that Ketilsson decided the Wolfspear were worthy and contacted his fleet. Aboard it, was the large force of Space Wolves, the Wolf Lord Logan Grimnar had granted him to bestow upon the Wolfspear if they passed Ketilsson's judgment. At the Wolf Priest's command they deployed to Beta-Kalapus and arrived shortly after the invading Daemons were defeated. With these new reinforcements, the Wolfspear was brought to a full 1000 Space Marines and with his task now done, Ketilsson departed with his fleet shortly afterwards.[1]
When Senavael died, he was succeeded by Irik Stianolf who took the title High Jarl instead of Chapter Master.[2]
