Setekh (Phaeron)
Setekh was the Necron Chronomancer and Phaeron of the Hyksos Dynasty and enemy of Ahzek Ahriman.[1a]
History
In the ancient past, Setekh and the rest of his Dynasty engaged in dangerous temporal manipulations, culminating in the device dubbed the Key of Infinity. As a result, the Triarch sealed them away.[1a] However he is inadvertently reawakened by Ahriman and his cabal in M41 as part of his quest to cure his Legion of the Pyrodomon affliction.[1b] Setekh initially seems to agree to help Ahriman discover the Key of Infinity in the Webway to defeat the Pyrodomon, but this was a ruse to allow the Necron Overlord to change the past himself. In the ensuing struggle, Ahriman seemingly kills Setekh but he is able to reawaken in a new body.[1c]
Ahriman and Setekh subsequently both enter the Key, traveling back into the past. However the process begins to inflict Setekh and his followers with the Flayer Virus, driving him to madness.[2a] In a renewed struggle with Ahriman's cabal in the past, Setekh and the Sorcerer are once again able to enter the Key of Infinity. However Ahriman uses his mastery of the Key's techniques to have Setekh completely consumed by the Flayer Virus and trapped within his own arcane device. In the new timeline created by the Key, Setekh does not exist.[2c]
