The Seventh Urdeshi Storm-troop (or simply Seventh Urdeshi[1c]) was an Urdeshi Regiment of the Astra Militarum active during the Sabbat Worlds Crusade.[1a]

History
The regiment was Founded in 698.M40.[1c][Note 1] By the time of the Sabbat Crusade, the regiment's name had been added to one of the thousand honour pennants that stood by the Golden Throne on Holy Terra.[1c]
The Seventh Urdeshi was at the forefront of a Militarum taskforce led by Lord General Van Voytz on the planet Phantine. However, this was mainly due to their numbers (the Urdeshi outnumbering the Tanith and native Phantine guardsmen in the taskforce more than 2:1). In particular Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt of the Tanith First noted that the Urdeshi Commander, Colonel Zhyte, would have rather had his unit fighting alongside the other Urdeshi regiments engaged in the liberation of their homeworld elsewhere in the sector.[1a]
Van Voytz gave the Urdeshi the honour of leading the primary thrust on the city of Cirenholm.[1a] The aerial insertion, however, did not go smoothly, as the city's air defences responded quickly to the incoming Militarum drop-ships and blew many of them out of the sky. Worse, in the confusion and panic, the Guardsmen in the other drop-ships faced great difficulties deploying into their designated drop zones.[1b] Despite taking heavy casualties from the enemy forces, the Urdeshi made it inside the main dome of Cirenholm, partly due to the assistance of a wing of the Phantine Fighter Corps.[1b][1c]
However, after fighting hard to penetrate the dome, the Blood Pact cultists suddenly ceased their defence and seemingly vanished. Colonel-Commissar Gaunt, whose men had engaged the Blood Pact in Cirenholm's secondary dome, warned Colonel Zhyte that the cultists were preparing to activate a series of void shields across the city and urged caution on the Urdeshi's part. Zhyte chose to ignore Gaunt, insisting that this was the Urdeshis' mission and accusing Gaunt of cowardice in the face of the enemy. Zhyte chose to press the attack. Soon after, the Blood Pact reemerged from their fallback points (now behind and within the Imperial lines) and activated the shields, creating a near-impenetrable barrier to pin the Militarum soldiers against.[1c] Although the Imperials eventually won the city[1d], the Urdeshi suffered horrendous casualties to the Blood Pact ambush.[1c][1d]
