Shakar is a Larder World of the Tyranid's Hive Fleet Leviathan and was once an Imperial Hive World.[1][2]

History

Its downfall came in the Fourth Tyrannic War, when Shakar was conquered by the Tyranids. Instead of being consumed, however, the Hive World began to be converted into a Larder World and was then almost completely covered in a membrane-like structure. Vast quantities of non-Tyranid life was held in biostasis beneath the structure, while major Capillary Tower architecture emerged at Shakar's north and south poles, as well as from the world's equator. Numerous bioships were also seen feeding off of Shakar, when the Imperium's Solblade Drakht discovered the severely transformed world. Before the Solblade could learn more, though, the Tyranids became aware of their presence and launched a massive counter-attack that left the Solblade no choice but to retreat. This became the Imperium's first encounter with the Tyranids' Larder Worlds and Drakht is currently rallying with the Solblades Pormannon and Chesna, so they can return to Shakar.[1][2]
