Shoba is an Imperium Death World and the Homeworld of the Iron Shades Chapter.[1]
It is a dark and inhospitable place of perpetual night, where the population lives a precarious existence in the wilderness and only ventured into ruined cities when in desperate need of food and supplies. These cities are haunted by an ancient evil, an echo of the old apocalypse, and its ghosts still haunted the cold shadows. This environment is an excellent reason to recruit Space Marine initiates here, so the space marines of the Iron Shades suits great in dark combat zones, where it is more necessary to rely on their own intuition and experience rather than on the senses or on armour's data.[3]
It is also home to an Assassin death cult.[2]
