Shockboard

Shockboard is a type of material, that is used by the Imperium to build protective walls around its shelters and tents in warzones.[1]
Doing so can block enemy fire or munition strikes, but Shockboards also cause nearby sounds to appear louder to those in the shelters and tents. The material is known to have been used by the Imperial Army during the Great Crusade.[1]
