History
During the War in the Pariah Nexus, Imperial forces fought to defend the system against the Necrons.[1a] Early in the war, an accretion fleet commanded by Myrmidominus Ghelf was able to drive the Necrons out of the system and establish a foothold on the Feral World Santis-Magna, where Ghelf hoped to harvest noctilith and use it to construct a Liminal Abraiser. His efforts were hampered by the presence of a moon-sized pylon.[1c]
However, the Necrons eventually led a massive counterattack on the Skahren System, made up of forces from the Szarekhan, Nihilakh and Oruscar Dynasties. Ghelf was relying on an ancient and mysterious weapon called Shivarik's Constellation to defend the system but, while grappling with the weapon's hideously complicated operating system, Ghelf was convinced by voices from within his own mind to deactivate the Constellation's safeties. The weapon fired again and again, annihilating ally and foe alike until its residual energy-glyphs formed a hole in the fabric of space-time before the Constellation destroyed itself, taking Ghelf with it. From out of the hole, a shockwave of Warp energy struck the moon-pylon and reversed its polarity, allowing for the manifestation of the Daemon World Wyrmwood.[1c]
Celestial Objects
- Skahren — The system's star.[1a]
- Saint Vestra's Scepter — Agri World.[1a]
- Esphadori — Hive World.[1a]
- Santis-Magna — Feral World.[1c][Note 1]
- Skahren's Coil — Pylon moon.[1a] Destroyed during the Pariah Crusade.[1c]
Notes
- Note 1: On the map of the Skahren System in Crusade: Pariah Nexus, the planet's name is given as Samtis-Magna.[1a] Later in the source, however, it is consistently given as Santis-Magna.[1c] The spelling on the map is presumably an error (especially as the Imperial defenders of the system include the Kyogahn Mounted Reconnaisance [sic]).
