Skyhammer Orbital Strike Force

A Skyhammer Orbital Strike Force is a battle configuration used by the Adeptus Astartes in company-level engagements. These formations make use of Drop pods, typically with three squads being deployed, though anything from a whole company to the entire Chapter are capable of participating in the assault. Normally, these Strike Elements deploy between fifteen and thirty Space Marines into combat engagements. Such forces are more than capable of eliminating a portion of the enemy ground defences or decapitating the enemy command structure or even securing a landing zone for a follow-up assault from Thunderhawk Gunships along with more conventional landers.[1]
