Slasher Beast
Slasher Beasts are deadly creatures, native to deserts of the Death World of Luther McIntyre. They are considered one of the most dangerous game species in the Galaxy, upon which wealthy aristocrat hunters and Space Marine Chapters test their recruits.[1]

Biology
Slasher Beasts are apex predators, with a pelvic claw designed to ensnare its prey and render it helpless against the four slashing "blade-tentacles".[1]
History
Slasher beasts are native to the Death World of Luther McIntyre but were introduced as apex predators to Calana VII by Rogue Traders acting under license from the Genetor-Biologis of the Adeptus Mechanicus during an attempt to reseed the planet following its virus bombing after the Reign of Blood.[1] Away from the hostile deserts they evolved in, the Slasher Beasts slaughtered all forms of life on the planet, rendering Calana VII another Death World – the planet now exists purely for aristocrat hunters to participate in bloody culls, and Space Marine chapters to test their new recruits.[1]
