The Soul Glass is an artefact that has been sought after by Lord Inquisitor Coteaz.[1a]
An ancient relic from the Dark Age of Technology originally believed to have been created on Mars[1c], the soul glass was said to allow for immortality by allowing for the rebirth of one's soul in a new healthy body. Faced with his failing health and advanced age, Coteaz sought the Soul Glass to live forever in order to eternally fight the enemies of mankind.[1a] The device was later discovered upon Novalis, where Mechanicum elements under the obsessed Magos Xylothek attempted to unlock its secrets.[1b] However, this led to a Daemonic outbreak by the forces of Nurgle. After the battle, Coteaz and his former rival Castra Sato discovered that the soul glass was at the heart of the corruption. Ultimately Coteaz decided to not use the Soul Glass, even if it dooms him to death.[1d]
