The '''Excruciatorexcruciator''' is a small torture deviceused by the [[Inquisition]] and others. It is a collapsible, and thus portable "torture rack", and it is described as a small black box, from which protrude many hundreds of fine wires. Placed against the skin, these extend deep within the unfortunate subject's nervous system, enabling the operator to control the individual's emotions and state of mind. 1 With a little fine tuning, it can inflict the most agonizing pain without necessarily causing physical damage.2
It is an essential tool of the [[Inquisition]], used by Inquisitors in the field to put traitors and the like ''to the question'' where they lack either the time or the inclination to transport the prisoner to more complete facilities.
It is more simply called a porta-rack.
