While Storm Troopers are organized into entire regiments, the commitment of an entire regiment in one campaign is exceedingly rare. Most often, companies or even platoons of Storm Troopers are attached to Imperial Guard regiments in order to aid them achieve their objectives.
A squad consists of between four and nine Storm Troopers and a [[Sergeant]]. They are armed with [[Hellgun]]s and [[Targeter]]s and the Sergeant carries a [[Hellpistol]] and [[Close Combat Weapon]]. They are all armed with [[Frag Grenades|frag]] and [[krak grenade]]s and may also take [[Melta Bombs]]. They all wear standard [[Carapace Armour]]. The Sergeant may be upgraded to a [[Veteran Sergeant]] who will likely carry better equipment than a standard Sergeant. The squad can also include up to two [[Meltagun]]s, [[Plasma Gun]]s, [[Flamer]]s or [[Grenade Launcher]]s and one Storm Trooper may carry a [[Vox-caster]]. The squad may also be mounted in a [[Chimera]].<sup>1-p43</sup>
