'''Storm Troopers''' form the elite force that is a Storm Trooper regiment.<sup>5</sup> They are regarded as the most highly trained and lethal men and women that serve under arms in the Imperium, short of the Space Marines themselves. Their training makes them more suitable for use in assaults, as fire support troops or as an infiltrating force to carry out special objectives.
Storm Trooper recruits are chosen from the progena of the [[Schola Progenium]], where they have been trained raised and indoctrinatededucated, and molded into loyal and dedicated servants of the [[Emperor]]. They are then taught superior battle tactics and the use of more advanced equipment than the average Guardsmen.
Storm Trooper units are assigned to Imperial Guard regiments for a specific campaign, mostly a single company at a time. Regular guardsmen often regard the inimitably dedicated and better equipped Storm Troopers with a certain amount of animosity, referring to them by such names as 'Big Toy Soldiers' and 'Glory Boys'.
