'''Death World''' is a Warhammer 40,000 novel written by [[Steve Lyons]] featuring the [[Imperial Guard]]. It was first published in 2006.
The [[Catachan]] jungle fighters of the Imperial Guard are an elite regiment, that specializes in destroying the Emperor’s foes on the most dangerous worlds of the Imperium. Their training is really put to the test when a squad is sent to the death world of [[Rogar III]] in response to an ork incursion. But as well as dealing with the green-skinned orks they must do battle with the planet itself and the mysterious figures that stalk them across the deadly terrain.
 
PLOT:
The story begins with quiet Death Worlder trooper Lorenzo and his company waiting aboard their ship on their way to their new mission.After a briefing they learn they are heading to Rogar 3 a world with strange energy readings and locked in a brutal war as the Validian Imperial Guard regiment and the Ork Horde.Later at dinner he speaks to the rest of his squad about the mission.Sergeant "Hardhead" Greiss believes its a milk run,Lorenzo is indiffrent but inside longs for a chance to prove himself on the world,while trooper "Brains" Donovits believes something is diffrent about this one and mentions it was a paradise 3 months ago and now its a death world.The next morning the 4 platoons get in the 4 dropships to land 2 ships land saftely at the forward most outpost but 2 are knocked out by lightning one is Lorenzo's and the other is platoon B.After a short fight with a group of acid spitting plants the Lorenzo's squadmate "Bullseye" Myers eliminates them all.
