[[Colonel]] '''Greiss''' was in command of the [[Imperial Guard]] [[Catachan Jungle Fighters|2nd CatachanII]] [[Regiment]] force, which was involved in the pacification of [[Balur]]. The campaign lasted for four years and he was severely wounded on several occasions.

He is most famous for his association with the [[Ogryn]] [[Nork Deddog]]. Nork saved Greiss's life several times, including carrying him from Breakback Hill when most of Greiss's body was shattered. [[Straken|'Iron Hand' Straken]] also served under him and later succeeded him as colonel of the Catachan II.
