'''Sanctuary 101''' was an [[Sisters of Battle|Adepta Sororitas]] fortress-convent on a world on the eastern fringes. It was utterly destroyed and all Sisters were slaughtered by the [[Necrons]] in 897.[[M41]]. No remains of the Necrons were found, but the way the Sisters bodies were flayed of their skins makes the Necrons the only possibility. There was a video recording made, although it seems to have been distorted as the Necrons only appear as shadows.

Sanctuary 101 may refer to Room 101 in the novel 1984 by George Orwell. In which the antagonist O'Brien responds when asked what is in the room that "The Thing in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world." Similarly, the conflict on Sanctuary 101 is one of the first with the Necrons who could be construed as some of the "worst things" in the galaxy.
