Background
Iyanden is a craftworld towards the galatic south east. Iyanden is one of two major craftworlds near to the Tau Empire, the other is Alaitoc. 1 p.15 an infamous Eldar Corsair, Prince Yriel, was exiled from the Craftworld when a pre-emptive strike using the entire fleet to destroy a powerful chaos fleet left the craftworld virtually unprotected. 1 p.52 This ultimately became the craftworld's farseers' greatest regret when the Hive Fleet Kraken was launched upon the craftworld. 1 p.52 More than four fifths of the craftworld's population were slaughtered and untold numbers of souls were lost to Slaanesh as their spirit stones were cracked. 2 The craftworld was too slow to outrun the Tyranid invasion and was almost destroyed. At the craftworlds darkest hour, salvation came from the heavens as Prince Yriel return, landed, shocked the farseers as he took the spear of twilight and drove it into the head of the leader beast of the invaders, thus saving what was left of Iyanden.1 p.52
Organisation
The craftworld is at the brink of extinction and has few warriors left. As a result Iyanden has had to quickly rebuild its armies by relying on wraith-constructs and in particular Wraithguard. Normally the souls of their dead ancestors are left to rest, but in these dire times the Seers of Iyanden channel their souls within the infinity circuit into a psycho-crystalline spirit stone and subsequently interred in the impregnable wraithbone shell of a construct. Now these might wraithguards tower above the limited number of Iyanden's Guardians and Dire Avengers, ever silent.
The psykers who specialise in summoning wraith-constructs are known as Spiritseers and guide them on the battlefield.1 p.20
Notable Characters
Prince Yriel of Iyanden, one of the greatest corsairs of the Eldar and saviour of the Iyanden craftworld. He is now damned for eternity for grabbing the spear of twilight. 1 p.52
Iyanna Arienal, also known as the Angel of the Iyanden, whose bodyguard is a giant wraith-construct animated by the spirit-pool of a mighty Exarch. She believes the flame of her craftworld will blaze once more rather than flicker and die out1 p.20
