I registered on this page so that I might say the following:
-The retcon about your strike force in Chaos Rising should be noted. Relic explicitly made it clear that you command the 4th company, not the 5th. Avitus, Tarkus and Thaddeus are of the 4th company too.
In the pure ending it is stated that the player's Force Commander is promoted by Gabriel Angelos : "You will assume command of the Fourth Company, rightly taking the captaincy left vacant by Davian Thule."
I would humbly suggest that Aramus and the Force Commander get two separate mentions, as Aramus was fighting tyranids on Prosperon before the Aurelian Crusade, the Commander was fighting a non-tyranid force on Hadrius.
Aramus is stated as being a native to Meridian, while in DoW2 it is explicitly stated that the only marine from Meridian is Thaddeus. Aramus is also the same age as Thaddeus, while the Commander is older than Thaddeus, as his service stud proves. In theory Blood Ravens service studs stand for 200 years of service, as Avitus and Davian Thule are both mentioned to be around 400 years old, and both have 2 service studs.
However the commander is not from Meridian, although his homeworld is never relealed.
