Aramus earned his promotion fighting the [[Tyranids]] on Prosperon to protect a sacred scroll from falling into the hands of the xenos.
It is not known for sure if Aramus is the Force Commander, or another Marine, since most of the information in the novel conflicts with information given by Relic Entertainment in the [[Dawn of War 2]] and Chaos Rising games. Perhaps Aramus's background have been simply changed, or the FC is another marine not connected to Aramus.
Since [[Thaddeus]] is notedly the only [[Blood Raven]] to come from [[Meridian]] in 700 years, it is unlikely that the Commander is a native of [[Meridian]].
