While the standard Lasgun is a semi-automatic weapon (one squeeze of the trigger fires one shot), the Hellgun is fully automatic - it fires multiple laser beams as long as the trigger is held down.
The Hellgun is being replaced with the newer [[Hot-Shot LasgunHotshot lasgun]]<sup>2</sup>.
