Land Speeders have light armour all around and a crew of two [[Power Armour]]ed Space Marines (with the exception of the Tempest Variant, which have has a crew of one pilot and slaved targeting systemsthe Storm variant, which is piloted by two [[Scouts]]).

The standard Land Speeder mounts a gunner-operated [[heavy bolterHeavy Bolter]], [[multiMulti-meltaMelta]] or [[heavy flamerHeavy Flamer]].

The Land Speeder Tempest is fully enclosed, with a single pilot, a fixed-forward assault cannon Assault Cannon and twin-linked missile launchersMissile Launchers, as well as heavier armorarmour.

Land Speeder Storms are variants which carry five-man Scout squads, often used to stealthily insert a squad into a vulnerable enemy position where the squad can wreak havoc. They mount a gunner-operated heavy bolterHeavy Bolter, heavy flamerHeavy Flamer, multiMulti-melta Melta or assault cannonAssault Cannon.
