The next night Vect launched his attack as six secret portals suddenly opened across the city, allowing thousands of shadow-creatures to pour in. Before the night was over, the shadow-creatures had forever changed the inhabitants of the city by plunging it into a half-real state slightly out of phase with the rest of the [[Webway]]. Now, the Kabal of the Wraithkind can only feed when they leave the webway and enter [[Realspace]], where they vent their extreme frustrations upon the lesser races.<sup>1</sup>
In 995.[[M41]] the Kabal of the Wraithkind, along with the [[Cult of the Flayed Hand]], saved the [[Craftworld]] of [[Iyanden]] when it was about to be overrun by [[Waaagh!]] [[Rekkfist]]. Iyanden, unable to stop the invasion before it reached the surface of their Craftworld, was forced to awaken even more [[Wraith-construct]]s in order to hold back the invasion. As events become desperate, a Webway portal at the rear of the Craftworld activated and members of the Kabal of the Wraithkind and the Cult of the Flayed Hand emerged to aid in slaying the [[Ork]]s. After saving Iyanden, the Dark Eldar were questioned by Iyanden's [[Council of Seers]] questioned the Dark Eldar as to why they intervened, and they replied simply that they gain extreme entertainment from watching Iyanden's angst-ridden use of necromancy.<sup>2</sup>
