It was first developed by the Grey Knights to take on [[Greater Daemon]]s of [[Chaos]]. A Dreadknight pilot is connected via synaptic implants to the Dreadknight, which allowsthe Grey Knight pilot to control the weapon and movement systems of the Dreadknight itself. However, the mental strength and reaction speed required to effectively pilot the Dreadknight is so tough that most Grey Knights do not pass the requirements. However, those that do are undoubtedly some of the most honored warriors to ever belong to the Grey Knights, and thus there is no greater honour to a Grey Knight than to become a Dreadknight pilot.
