Succession does not pass from parent to child, but is chosen by the Elder Navigators of House Belisarius. Not all Belisarians can be Celestarch, though the children of a previous Celestarch could one day ascend. As head of House Belisarius, the Celestarch is one of the most powerful families in the [[Imperium]], and well protected by the [[Space Wolves]] of the [[Wolfblade (Unit)|Wolfblade]].<sup>1</sup>
