Very little is The Damnos Incident, also known regarding as the Fall of Damnos Incident, other than that it was the first confrontation where a battle fought by the NecronNecronss deployed a Doomsday Phalanx, exposing the and Imperium to in 973.M41 on the awesome power of a Doomsday MonolithTomb World and its devastating of Gauss ObliteratorDamnos. 1
One ==Overview==Used as a Mining World since the time of the Great Crusade, Damnos was rich in resources but only given a small Planetary Defense Force and Imperial Guard garrison. However little did they know that the world had long since been a Tomb World for a sizable Necron Lordarmy. During routine repairs on the worlds mining facilities, designated ancient ruins far older than any human settlement were discovered. The Adeptus Mechanicus immediately laid claim to them. The Tech-Priests would take several alien items from the Herald site, which caused the Necron warriors sleeping below to emerge.1a Phalanx after phalanx of DismayNecron Warriors emerged from below, descending upon the factories of Damnos Prime. A shroud of comm-interference precedes the Necron advance, and the now-isolated human defenders are overrun in a matter of hours. Sending out reconnaissance units of Thunderbolt fighters, none were to return to report on what they had seen. After several days, the shroud of comm-interference moved south towards Damnos Secundus. The Necrons follow in its wake, destroying everything in their path. Meanwhile, Imperial Guard reconnaissance teams discover that Damnos Prime was completely deserted of both Necron attacks or human occupiers just as the Planetary Governor sends an urgent plea to the Adeptus Astartes requesting immediate assistance. The call is confirmed answered by the Ultramarines 2nd Company. The Governor himself retreats to have been present at a command bunker as the Necrons launch their attack on the Damnos Incident where it issued capital of Kellenport. Recieving aid from an Imperial Navy Battleship Nobilis, the incoming Necrons are subjected to fierce melta torpedo bombardment.1b Due to the orbital bombardment, the battle initially goes well for the defenders. However, triumph soon turns to disaster as a chilling ultimatum regarding Necron bolt of compressed energy shoots through the sky and destroys the Nobilis. Necrons teleport directly into the Imperial Guards own fortifications, killing men in their own bunkers and the implacable nature Governor himself is killed by tunnelling Tomb Spyders and Scarabs emerge from under his own bunker. When elements of the Ultramarines 2nd company finally arrive shortly after, they launch a series of daring raids to rescue the "Machine" few survivors and inevitability of its victorywithdraw back into space.
