As a part of the formidable [[Necron]] combat forces they are commonly deployed in squads of between four and ten individuals. They are skilled and efficient warrriors, armed only with razor-sharp flensing blades in place of hands that easily cut through the toughest skin and armour.
They are twisted and ghoulish terrors, advancing before the main body of the Necron force, much like Scouts. Though stooped with age in stature they remain disturbingly agile. To sow terror among the ranks of their foes, Flayed Ones adorn themselves with the flesh of those they have slain. This psychological tactic has a marked effect on the morale of an enemy army, as their own dead effectively advance on their position.
Once in combat, the fearsome visage of a Flayed One disconcerts and terrorizes foes, impairing their ability to land a blow on the Flayed One through their whirling flurry of flensing blades. This gives the Flayed Ones the opening they need to exact a lethal tally with their blood-drenched claws.

Flayed Ones' mobility and specialized deployment allow them to outmaneuver enemies, suddenly approaching the exposed flanks of enemy gun lines to cut vulnerable positions to ribbons.
