Rise to Power
==Rise to Power==
He Herman rose to power in the same way all others had done before him, through assassination of the other claimants to the throne- in Herman's case, his three elder brothers. He was His brothers considered him too stupid, weak or unsophisticated to be taken take him seriously as a rival, which they soon found out to be wrong at their own expense. He set off a bomb at a banquet, killing Anton (his eldest brother) and 322 guests, Otto was killed by a hit and run driver and Vilhelm was found in his room, his body riddled with bolter shells. Herman was standing with a smoking bolter in his hand, but proclaimed it to be the worst suicide he had seen. The officers investigating the death were too afraid to confront Herman, for he was next in line for the throne. When his father died, suspiciously from grief and spidervenom poisoning, Herman rose to total power of a planetcost.
Anton, the eldest brother, was killed by a bomb planted by Herman at a banquet, which also claimed the lives of 322 guests. The second, Otto, was killed by a hit-and-run driver. The third, Vilhelm, was found in his room, his body riddled with bolter shells. Herman himself was found on the scene with a smoking bolter in his hand, but brazenly proclaimed Vilhelm's death to be a suicide. The authorities investigating Vilhelm's death were too afraid to confront Herman, for he was next in line for the throne. When his father died, from a suspicious combination of grief and spidervenom poisoning, Herman assumed total power over an entire planet. His personality reflected that of a typical aristocrat, decadent and ignorant of the impending threatthreats to his planet's safety. He used fear to control the population and maintain his position of power. He was however, personally fearless (whether this be through was a sign of actual bravery or just blind stupidity or actual fearlessness is unknown) and ruthless to the point of insanity. He When the [[Ork]] threat appeared, he had little idea grasp of the magnitude of the problem and had even less of an idea of how to deal with it.
