The '''autogun''' is a firearm [[projectile weapon]] similar to a real-world automatic rifle in appearance and operationto autmatic rifles of the [[M20|twentieth century]]. Though unlike our world's auto-rifles¹ Unlike ancient firearms, it uses small caliberautoguns typically use caseless ammunition, caseless bullets which are made from of metal , plastic or synthetic materials. It has a high ceramics, and are constructed with [[plasteel]], increasing their rate of fire, shooting bursts of high-velocity roundsand reliability.¹

Although considered obsolete and as so phased out of most [[Imperial Guard]] arsenals, autoguns often find their way into the hands of all forms of militia and gangsters (like gangs that plague massive hive-cities of the planet known as [[Necromunda]]), as well as being the standard service rifle of [[Planetary Defence Forces]] in less advanced cultures.¹
