Maybe this is just nitpicky of me, but this line right here bugs me: "So unstinting were they in these arduous but unsung duties, the Salamanders were to earn the gratitude and respect of thousands of Imperial Guardsmen and civilians." If the pursuit of these duties earned the gratitude and respect of thousands of Guardsman and Imperial citizens, then those duties have been pretty effectively 'sung.' Is this viewpoint too nitpicky and I should just leave well enough alone?
