The Ratskins who peddle these pouches in the marketplaces of the Underhive settlements claim that the spirit of the blindsnake watch out for bad spirits and guide the wearer in the dark. What is known to actually happen is that the mixture in the pouch leaches out and is absorbed through the wearer's skin. By some still unknown process, the mixture enhances the psychic sensitivity of the individual, granting them a rudimentary sixth sense.<sup>1</sup>
