The '''Leman Russ Exterminator''' is a common and prolific variant of the [[Leman Russ Battle Tank]] used by the [[Imperial Guard]] and on occasion, the [[Space Wolves]] Chapter. It mounts a [[twin-linked]] [[Autocannon]] instead of the more common [[Battle Cannon]], making it more of an infantry hunter all-round battle tank.

The Exterminator is currently used as an addition to the reconnaissance forces due to its slightly increased speed and it is seen that the addition of armour will give a certain edge should combat be needed. It has also been used on occasion as an anti-aircraft mount instead of the [[Hydra Flak Tank]], but it lacks the targeters and elevation capacity to be truly effective.
The whole vehicle can be armed with rapid-firing weapons which lay down a hail of fire, which fells infantry in droves. It is especially effective against lightly armoured horde armies such as the [[Orks]] or [[Tyranids]]. While the twin-linked Autocannons have recoil dampeners, they lack a muzzle brake or flash suppressor.

The Exterminator is armed with turret-mounted [[twin-linked]] [[Autocannons]] and must take a hull-mounted [[Lascannon]] or [[Heavy Bolter]]. It may also be armed with two sponsons of Heavy Bolters. ==Space Wolves==
In honour of their [[primarch]] [[Leman Russ (primarch)|Leman Russ]] the Space Wolves keep a number of Leman Russ Exterminators in their inventory. They use these in battle rarely but to devastating effect, the tanks fearsome array of weaponry enhanced further by the skills of the marines inside<sup>2</sup>.
