Appearance
Thunder Warriors were large, easily the size of a Space Marine and in some cases even larger. Even the few that survived the end of the Unification Wars were shown to be more than a match for am Astartes in single combat. They were made highly resistant to psychic attack, perhaps because of the sorcery they would regularly face during the Age of Strife. They were heavily bulked in the upper body to grapple better win close combat with the enemy, and wore a primitive version of Power Armor called Thunder Armor which emphasised this upper body strength.1 Thunder Armor was not vacuum sealed, since the Thunder Warriors were intended for use on Terra rather than in the Great Crusade.
Thunder Warriors were not as long lived as either the Astartes or the Custodes, their bodies succumbing to debilitating tumours and degeneration after a while. It is suggested that this was intentional, and the Emperor designed them to die before the onset of the Great Crusade.2
