Melta torpedoes are one of the rarest and most powerful types of the [[torpedo]], second only to the terrifying [[vortex torpedoesVortex Torpedo]]es. As their name implies, they are packed with numerous melta bombs, which explode into conflagnations of nuclear fire on impact. The inferno is powerful enough to burn through the outer armour of the ship and potent enough to engulf the whole vessel.<sup>1</sup>
Of course, with such power comes great peril, as a successful enemy shot to the the torpedo bay will denotate them, the resultant inferno often annihilating the carrier vessel.<sup>1</sup>
