During the [[Word Bearers]]' [[Battle of Calth|surprise attack]] on the [[Ultramarines]], their [[Dark Apostle]]s carried several relics piecemeal remains of the massacred loyalist Marines to [[Calth]], to serve as offerings in a ritual to summon hordes of [[daemon]]s to the planet's surface. [[Erebus]] purported to recognize one of these relics as belonging to Torgaddon<sup>5a</sup>.
The horrors of the massacre drove Loken temporarily insane, and he spent months prowling the ruins of one of the cities, repeatedly talking to Torgaddon's beheaded corpse and demanding to know why Torgaddon had been given the release of death, while Loken had not<sup>4a</sup>.
