Background
Primarch
Only those inside the chapter know who their Primarch is and they hold him as a hero that won great renown. Though every time they are asked who it is they just stare blankly back at you, until you ask a different question. Many believe that they might be descendants of the lost legions but all accusations are swept away by the Inquistion as Heretical. Though no one was told it, though it was the chapter who asked for it to be deleted.

Homeworld
The Celestial Guardians home world is actually a Forge world. This has raised many eyebrows among other chapters but no one has taken action to question why. The Forge world itself has its own titan legion, Legio Astrum. The world itself is more or less a utopia world for it is covered with beautiful jungles and soft beaches. Though many of its wildlife is quite dangerous.

Armor
Most of the current types of armor still in use mainly consist of mark VII but has a larger amount of older variants than other chapters.

Fighting style
Most of the time they fight they prefer a slow steady advance that will overwhelm the enemy. But because of the lack of men they would rather use a ranged line of fire. The Celestial Guard do not fight using the Codex Astartes for they believe that it easy to predict. This has led to many verbal conflicts against the Ultramarines. They also have more honors then most other chapters.

Notable Battles
Battle above Erenon
It was late 36th millenium when marauding chaos warbands of Fire Breed attacked Erenon. Though caught completely by surprise Erenon was not completely defenseless for two thirds of the Celestial Guards fleet was hanging in orbit. Plus a small fleet of Mechanicum ships also orbited the planet. But even though there was small battlegroup there they couldn't repel all of the chaos ships and had to retreat, not before the had disabled all of the capital ships though.

Battle for Erenon
On the ground grueling skirmishes were fought all across the face of the planet but each attack was repelled with the steely determination of the Celestial Guard,PDF,Titan legion and the skitarii. But when the fight seemed won daemons appeared all across the face of the planet and warp rifts opened up to spill traitor marines. Soon the defenders were quickly being destroyed. Many strike forces from the Celestial Guard stemmed the tide of battle for a couple of days respite. Though this was not enough and the ammunition stores were running low as the Great Enemy pushed harder.

Small battles at the Riverbed and The Adamantium Gate were keystones of morale for the defenders. But not once was anyone overcome by fear. More men died as The Riverbed was taken and the titan legion was but few in number. If help could not get there soon, all would be lost.

Retaking of Orbit
The fleet was now rearmed and prepared for the attack. Lord Admiral Veramic was in command of the overall attack. His plan of attack was for the fighters to be a moving wall taking out any bombers coming their way, following up with bombers taking out the engines of any essential ships. Then the torpedo ships would fire on the crippled ships as the main body of ships block the enemies line of sight. The most notable ship was The Praetor and Sanctus Gladius that took down the capital ship Dreaded Blood. The Chaos Planet Killer's Reactor went super nova and exploded, taking many small cruisers and escorts with it. Soon all of the ships lost heart and retreated leaving the invasion force stranded with no escape. Coordinated with the forces on the ground the Celestial Guard took back their home world.

Later on they would continue around the system and retake the planets they lost to the traitor marines

Organisation
The ranks of the Celestial Guard do not coincide with the usual ranks of the space marine but share the same level of authority

The order is: High Lord = Chapter Master
Lord = Captain
Veteran = Sergeant
Custode = Tactical
Castellan = Devastator
Paladin = Assault
Observers = Scouts

This has led to some finding it hard to follow their orders. But Techmarines,chaplains and librarians still hold their original names
