The '''Savlar Chem Dogs''' are typical of many a [[Penal Legion]]s in the [[Imperial Guard]], being composed of some of the most hardened criminals and desperados in the [[Imperium]]. Recruits are drawn from the prisons on the planet [[Savlar]] by the promise to allow them to keep anything they take from the battlefield, as well as the chance to get away from Savlar's highly toxic environment.

Savlar The Chem -Dogs are recruited from were conscripted into the Penal colonies on Imperial Guard en mass in order to meet the planet Savlar, and come from Imperium's desperate need for troops during the worst murderers, thieves and miscellaneous scoundrels[[Third War for Armageddon]]. They were originally created Originally founded by [[Judge ]] Callistar in order to suppress put down an armed uprising on their homeworld, he realised the Chem-Dogs could be made into an effective fighting force with the right motivation. Therefore the Chem-Dogs were given the following directives: they could keep any war loot they took off the rebellions on enemy, but if they broke the planetlaw they would be sent back to Savlar. {{Fn|1}}

They were used to fight Savlar Chem-Dogs excel in fighting in the cramped, noxious battlefields, such as those found in [[Third War for Armageddon]] and excel in fighting in 's [[Hive|Hive CitiesUnderhive]] and close quarterss. They were used beneath the cities are also notorious thieves, scavengers, anarchists and worst, with many inhaling a type of altered gas prior to repel any Orks trying battle which put them into a hyperagressive state.
