Brother-Captain Corvane Valar was commander of Raven Guard's 5th Battle Company during [[13th Black Crusade ]] and [[Kathur Reclamation]]. Under his command the [[Raven Guard]] deployed half of 5th Company and a strike cruiser Second Shadow. Captain Valar had fought with [[Notable Cadian Trooper Regiments#Mechanised Formations|Cadian 88th Shock Troops ]] during siege of Kasr Vallock^1a and formed some sort of personal relationship with its commander, colonel [[Colonel]] Josuan Lockwood.During the Reclamation he ordered to launch a fake assault^1b on [[Death Guard|Death Guard's ]] battleship [[Terminus Est]] and instead of carrying out an boarding action in futile attempt to delay the destruction of Imperial fleet in orbit of Kathur. Covered by this fake assault, all Battle-Brothers conducted planetfall and begin their hit and run attacks against advancing Death Guard Traitor Astartes.^1c
