The '''Elysian Drop Troops''' [[Imperial Guard]] [[regiment]] are known for the rapid deployment capabilities using Airborne Troop Carriers called [[Valkyrie]]s, and deloy by rappelling or grav-chutes from high altitudes.
The 99th [[Elysian Drop troopsTroops]] regiment were heavily engaged on the eastern fringe against [[Hive Fleet Kraken]]. After many years of continuous engagement against the [[Tyranids]] the regiment was on its last reserves of manpower. The survivors, ammounting to not much more than a reinforced company were reorganised into a single detachment under the command of the senior surviving officer, D companies' Major Durra. The detachment was then seconded to the [[Inquisition]], in service to Lord Inquisitor Varius of [[Ordo Xenos]]. Varius included the detachment with the forces given to Inquisitor Lok to investigate the apparent silence of the research facility on [[Beta Anphelion IV]]
