He is the second longest appearing character in the ''[[Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War|Dawn of War]]'' series (the first being [[Gabriel Angelos]]) having appeared in ''[[Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Winter Assault|Winter Assault]]'', ''[[Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade|Dark Crusade]]'' and ''[[Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Soulstorm|Soulstorm]]'' without dying and will most likely make another return.
In the Warhammer 40,000 comic book "Blood and Thunder" there a great assault made by Warboss Gorgutz attacking an Imperial city going on. In one of the later scenes there is a part where an explosive hits Gorgutz's Command Gargant with him standing where the explosion was. After this a nob named Skyva becomes the new Warboss and takes over the Waaagh! which would only happen if the previous Warboss was dead. Thus we can confirm that Gorgutz has been killed off and will not return to the series.
