The '''Spike Rifle''' is a [[Tyranid]] [[Bio-weapon]] used primarily by the [[Gaunt (Tyranid)|Gaunt]] genus. It is a bony tube lined with muscles that holds a row of harpoon-like spikes that are razor sharp, barbed to tear at a victim's arteries and cause them to bleed to death, and for good measure are also criss-crossed with acidic veins and toxin sacs to make any scratch almost always fatal. The spikes are fired by method of a muscle contraction over a considerable range and with sufficient force to piece flesh.<sup>{{Fn|1, </sup><sup>}}{{Fn|2</sup>}}
