The Conservatory Project was an academic institution that operated outside of the [[Administratum]] prior to the Horus Heresy. It was founded by [[Kasper Hawser]]
==Background==
The Conservatory Project was founded approximately 872.[[M30]] by Dr. Kasper Hawser. It was granted its charter at the Conclave of [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lutetia Lutetia]]{{Fn|1a}}. The purpose of the Project was to unify mankind by rediscovery of culture and technology lost during the [[Age of Strife]] and to understand why the Age of Strife happened.{{Fn|1b}}
Prior to the beginning of the [[Horus Heresy]] the Conservatory Project included over 30,000 officers on [[Terra]] and an additional 250,000 freelance associates, archaeologists and off world numbers.{{Fn|1a}} It enjoyed the personal approval and interest of the [[Emperor]] and [[Malcador]] the Sigillite.{{Fn|1c}}
