One of the [[Terra]]n [[Space Marines|Marines]], Gage was one of the original recruits to the XIII Legion{{Fn|1b}}. During the Battle of Calth, Gage was injured by a [[daemon]], losing his hand in the process. He was saved by [[Aeonid Thiel]], a sergeant marked for censure{{Fn|1b}}. Once the [[Word Bearers]]' control over the Calth orbital defences was broken, Gage was ordered by Guilliman to take the ''[[Macragge's Honour]]'' in pursuit of the ''[[Infidus Imperator]]'', the flagship of [[Kor Phaeron]]{{Fn|1c}}.
