One of the lieutenants of the Deathwolf, [[Morkai (deity)|Morkai]], Blackmane, also known as the '''Howler of the Night''', was said to be able to raise the dead from their graves with its calls. After besting Morkai, [[Leman Russ (Primarch)|Leman Russ]] is said to have slain Blackmane and made his pelt into a magical cloak that allowed him to pass unhurt through the gates of death.{{Fn|1a}}
