Little is known about the '''Tiger Claws''', or their history. Having previously been thought lost in the [[warp]] in their entirety, a single [[company]] of the missing chapter reappeared many centuries later. Their petition to have their [[gene-stock ]] released and their chapter rebuilt was dismissed when their senior surviving officer, [[Space Marine Captain|Captain]] Vetala, disappeared shortly after delivering it on [[Terra]]. The other surviving Tiger Claws themselves disappeared shortly afterwards.^{{Fn|1a}}

It was rumoured in senior [[Inquisition]] circles at the time that this was no bad thing; the chapter was thought to be of the [[Cursed Founding]] and so better off dead.^{{Fn|1a}}

The Tiger Claws were once again thought extinct, until the interrogation of an [[Astral Claws]] [[apothecary]] during the [[Badab War]] revealed some startling information. The prisoner disclosed that the remnants of the long -lost Tiger Claws had secretly taken refuge with their [[primogenitors]], the Astral Claws, and were being masqueraded masquerading as members of that chapter with the eventual aim of rebuilding the Tiger Claws using withheld Astral Claws [[gene-seed]] tithes[[tithe]]s.^1b{{Fn|1c}}

In the original version of the [[Badab War ]] the Tiger Claws took the role of the Astral Claws (there was no such chapter as the Astral Claws in this iteration).^{{Fn|2 }} The name of Huron's chapter was altered to the Astral Claws in subsequent editions with the name 'Tiger Claws' variously either going missing or being applied to other elements of the background until the current edition, which places them as a successor chapter of the Astral Claws. The Tiger Claws were originally depicted in a tiger striped camo pattern, and had a different chapter symbol.² Their current symbol appears to be a black tiger head in profile, very similar in style/pose to the [[Astral Claws]] chapter symbol.
