As their name implies, they are packed with numerous [[melta bombsbomb]]s, which explode into conflagnations conflagrations of nuclear fire on impact. The inferno is powerful enough to burn through the outer armour of the a ship and potent enough to engulf the whole vessel.^{{Fn|1}}

Of course, with such power comes great peril, as a successful enemy shot to the the torpedo bay will denotate detonate them, the resultant resulting inferno often annihilating the carrier vessel.^{{Fn|1}}
