The [[Damocles Crusade]] was fought between the [[Tau Empire]] and the [[Imperium]], and was the first time the two forces met militarily. Previously the Tau had been unaware of the true size of the Imperium. Despite the Ethereals[[Ethereal]]s' instructions that the Gulf was to be off-limits to the Tau, [[Commander Farsight]] has established colonies there, known as the [[Farsight Enclaves]], which have severed contact with the Tau Empire.
