Crewed by two [[Guardsmen]], the Sabre Platform is typically used for ground and light anti-air defense. They are sometimes issued to heavy weapon platoons instead of their normal load-out, although only in cases where a [[regiment]] is tasked to defend a strategic location.^{{Fn|1}}

Each Sabre Platform mounts multiple heavy weapons, from [[twin-linked]] [[heavy bolters]] and [[autocannons]] to quad [[heavy stubber]]s and twin-linked [[lascannons]].^{{Fn|1 }} Instead of weapons, the Platform may instead be equipped with a massive [[Searchlight]].^{{Fn|1}}
