Changes

For reasons still unknown, in 546.[[M32]] Drakan would act against the [[High Lords of Terra]]. Deploying his elite [[Officio Assassinorum|assassins]], the High Lords were slain to a man. A [[Space Marine]] strike force drawing drawn from the [[Halo Brethren]], [[Sable Swords]], and [[Imperial Fists]] Chapters [[Chapter]]s was scrambled to stop Vangorich. Storming the Assassinorum Temple on [[Terra]], the force was assailed by a hundred [[Eversor Assassin]]s. A sole Space Marine survived to reach Vangorich and slay the mad Grand Master with his [[Bolt Pistol]]. Afterwards, the Imperium descended into a period of anarchy.{{Fn|1}}

[[Agnathio]], [[Chapter Master]] of the [[Ultramarines]], united over fifty other Chapter Masters and arrived on [[Terra]] to contain the anarchy which followed the incident. Putting an end to the political squabblings of who should succeed the High Lords, the Astartes sorted out the issues in a closed session of the [[Senatorum Imperialis]]. When they emerged, the new twelve High Lords had been chosen.{{Fn|2}}
