During this period the Loyalist and Secessionist forces entered a period of escalating engagements. A strike force composed of Salamanders and Minotaurs, led by Captain Pellas Mir'San, attacked the world of Lamptan, where their enemies were gradually amassing strong numbers. The lightning raid was a success, and yielded an additional bonus in the form of recovered Space Marine gene-seed, stolen from the Loyalist fallen by the Astral Claws Corpse Taker Apothecaries since the uprising started.{{Fn|2g}}
